Chronicling the materialized relationships through the lens of a fictional journalist, Syst’aime exposes the contradiction between secular rules and romancic feelings caused by hidden values and rules of the modern age.

The authors of the works in this zine, students in Allison Parrish’s Reading and Writing Electronic Text class at NYU ITP (Spring 2024), together voice a collective denial of this binary.
Using techniques including string manipulation, text analysis, hand-made corpora, grammar generation, natural language processing and (yes) language models, these authors demonstrate that creative writing's connection with computation did not reach its apotheosis in whatever hyped-up LLM came out yesterday; but that in fact the relations and affordances between creative writing and computation are infinitely various, contextual, and even expressive.
